Alabama Hot Pockets Recipe​

Warm, cheesy, and comforting stuffed pockets made with seasoned meat and melted cheese wrapped in golden dough—easy to make, budget-friendly, and perfect for quick meals or snacks.

Ingredients
  

For the Filling:
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
Optional add-ins:
  • jalapeños, bacon bits, hot sauce
For the Pocket:
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough OR pizza dough
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil

Method
 

  1. Cook the meat with onions, garlic, and spices until fully browned.
  2. Stir in cheese and let the filling cool.
  3. Roll out the dough and cut into even pieces.
  4. Add filling, fold, and seal the pockets with a fork.
  5. Slightly brush with egg wash & bake at 375°F until light golden texture.
  6. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Cool the filling before assembling to prevent tearing.
  • Try jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy touch.
  • Use a mix of cheeses for a melty center.
