Ingredients

  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • 4 large ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers (Nilla wafers recommended)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, caramel drizzle, extra wafers for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Sharp knife
  • Trifle bowl or glass dish
  • Measuring cups/spoons
  • Plastic wrap or lid

Method

  1. Prepare pudding base: Whisk milk and pudding mix until smooth, add condensed milk, fold in half whipped topping, chill 10–15 mins.
  2. Slice bananas: Slice ripe bananas ¼-inch thick. Optional: toss in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Layer ingredients: Start with wafers, then bananas, then pudding. Repeat until all layers are used, ending with pudding on top.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for 4–6 hours or overnight.
  5. Garnish & serve: Top with remaining whipped topping, crushed wafers, banana slices, or caramel drizzle.

Notes

  • Try firm bananas for the best texture.
  • Make ahead for deeper flavor and softer layers.

  • Dairy-free options: substitute milk and whipped topping with plant-based alternatives.
  • Optional toppings: crushed wafers, caramel drizzle, fresh fruit for extra flair.
