Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional for balance)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl (medium size)
  • Whisk or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Glass jar or airtight container (for storage)

Method

  1. Mix the base: In a medium mixing bowl, add mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add flavor: Stir in horseradish, Dijon mustard, and all dry spices (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne). Mix well.
  3. Taste and adjust: Add sugar if needed for balance. Adjust vinegar or pepper to taste.
  4. Rest for flavor: Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving — this allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  5. Serve: Drizzle over grilled chicken, pork, or ribs, or use as a dip for fries and veggies.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt or light mayonnaise.
  • You can try smoked paprika for a smoky touch.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week in the fridge.
  • Shake or stir before each use, as the vinegar may settle.
  • Pairs wonderfully with smoked chicken wings or pulled pork sandwiches.
