- Rinse the white rice perfectly in cold water.
- Add rice and water to a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
- Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Set aside and ready to serve
- Fluff with a fork, then gently fold in salt, spices, lime juice, cilantro, and oil if using.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve warm.
Notes
- Fresh lime juice gives the best flavor—avoid bottled juice.
- Add cilantro at the end to keep it fresh and bright.
- For softer rice, add 1–2 tablespoons of warm water while fluffing.
