Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups San Marzano tomatoes (or canned)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp sugar (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

  • 1 Wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Blender or immersion blender (optional)

Method
 

  1. 1️⃣ First of all, In a medium flame heat olive oil in a saucepan.
  2. 2️⃣ Add minced garlic; sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. 3️⃣ Add tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper & sugar & stir in well.
  4. 4️⃣ Simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5️⃣ Blend with an immersion blender for a smoother texture (optional).
  6. 6️⃣ Let the sauce rest for 5 minutes before using on pizzas.

Notes

  • San Marzano tomatoes give the best flavor, but any good-quality canned tomatoes work.
  • Add red pepper flakes & hot sauce for more heat & spicy kick.
  • Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for 1 week or freeze it for 3 months.
  • For extra richness, finish with a drizzle of olive oil before serving.
