- Cut chicken into 1–1.5 inch chunks. Pat dry.
- Marinate with seasoning mix (add buttermilk or hot sauce for extra flavor). Rest 30 minutes.
- Prepare breading station: flour → eggs → breadcrumbs.
- Coat each chicken piece (flour → egg → breadcrumbs). Let rest 5 minutes.
Cook by choice:
- Fry in oil for at least 3 to 4 minutes.
- Air fry at 375°F for 12–15 minutes.
- Bake at 400°F for 18–20 minutes.
- Rest nuggets on a wire rack 2–3 minutes.
- Serve hot with Taco Bell-inspired dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double-coat nuggets by repeating the egg + breadcrumb step.
- Season breadcrumbs as well as chicken for layered flavor.
- Store in fridge for 2 days or freezer for 2 months. Reheat in oven/air fryer.
