Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add flour and whisk until smooth (about 1 minute).
  3. Slowly pour in milk while whisking continuously.
  4. Stir in cheese until melted and creamy.
  5. Mix in spices and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, rest slightly, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne for desired heat level.
  • You can add some hot sauce for extra spiciness.
  • Store leftovers in a jar and reheat on low heat with a splash of milk.
