Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix)
  • ¾ cup water
  • 8 medium flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded three-cheese blend (cheddar, Monterey Jack, mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil for cooking
  • Optional: sour cream, salsa, guacamole, hot sauce (for dipping)

Equipment

  • Large skillet or griddle
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cheese grater
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet until it is browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Now, add taco seasoning and some water, and simmer it gently for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Lay tortilla flat, sprinkle cheese, beef, more cheese, then top with another tortilla.
  4. Fold tortilla into a triangle (Stacker style).
  5. Heat the skillet with butter/oil. Cook folded Stackers until golden and crispy on both sides.
  6. Slice and serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Try Greek yogurt for a lighter version instead of sour cream.
  • Swap beef with chicken, turkey, or black beans for variation.

  • For extra crispiness, press tortillas with a spatula while cooking.
  • Best served immediately, but can be reheated in a skillet.
