Ingredients
  

  • 6 Medium apples, sweet and tart mix
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Method
 

  1. Peel, core, and chop apples into even chunks
  2. Simmer apples with water for 15 to 18 minutes
  3. Stir in sugars, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt
  4. Simmer 5 to 7 more minutes to blend flavors
  5. Mash to desired texture
  6. Cool for 5 minutes before serving

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Stir in a splash of water or apple juice if the texture thickens after freezing.
