Ingredients
  

For the Onion:
  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
For the Sauce:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp horseradish
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Pinch cayenne

Method
 

  1. Cut onion into bloom shape without cutting root.
  2. Soak onion in ice water for 30–60 minutes.
  3. Mix seasoned flour and egg batter.
  4. Coat onion twice for thick crunch.
  5. Fry at 175–180°C until golden brown.
  6. Drain, season, and serve with dipping sauce.
