  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Frying pan or deep fryer
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels or wire rack
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for 1–12 hours.
  2. Mix flour with spices for coating.
  3. Dredge chicken in seasoned flour.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry chicken for 4–6 minutes until golden and cooked through (165°F internal).
  6. Use paper towels to drain and you can serve with favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For extra crispy chicken, double-dip: buttermilk → flour → buttermilk → flour.
  • Use an air fryer at 375°F for 12–14 minutes as a lighter option.
  • Pair with ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce for authentic flavor.
