Texas Roadhouse Mac and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch paprika

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Colander
  • Saucepan

  • Cheese grater
  • Serving bowl

Method
 

  1. Boil macaroni in water until al dente. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Now, create a smooth roux, melt butter add flour in a pan, & whisk gently.
  3. Slowly add milk and cream while stirring until thick.
  4. Add cheeses, stir until you get the smooth.
  5. Mix pasta into sauce and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm with extra cheese on top.

Notes

  • Freshly shredded cheese melts better.
  • Add milk while reheating to keep the sauce creamy.
  • Don’t cook pasta too soft.

  • Add bacon, chicken, or jalapeños for variation.
  • Taste before serving and adjust seasoning.
