Texas Roadhouse Sangria Margarita Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 oz tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz sweet & sour mix
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1½–2 oz red wine (for float)
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Lime or orange slices (garnish)
  • Salt or sugar (optional rim)

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • Measuring jigger or cup
  • Margarita or rocks glass
  • Spoon (for wine float)
  • Ice tray
  • Citrus juicer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Optional: Rim the glass with salt or sugar, then fill it with ice.
  2. In a shaker add the following ingredients: Tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sweet & sour mix, and orange juice.
  3. Add ice and shake well for 15–20 seconds.
  4. Strain into the prepared glass.
  5. Slowly float red wine on top using a spoon.
  6. Garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Fresh lime juice gives the best flavor
  • Use dry red wine for balance
  • Add wine just before serving for the best taste

  • Tastes smooth but contains moderate alcohol
  • Can be easily doubled or made as a pitcher
