Ingredients

  • 1 large Tuscan-style artisan loaf
  • ½ cups unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • Optional: red pepper flakes

Equipment

  • Serrated bread knife
  • Cutting board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Oven

Method

  1. Prepare Garlic Butter: Mix softened butter, garlic, olive oil, parsley, seasoning, and salt until creamy.
  2. Slice the Bread: Cut loaf lengthwise using a serrated knife. Place on baking tray cut-side up.
  3. Spread Evenly: Apply garlic butter generously across the surface. Add Parmesan if desired.
  4. Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes. Broil 1–2 minutes for golden top.
  5. Rest & Serve: Let rest for 2–3 minutes, slice, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Always use fresh garlic for bold flavor.
  • Let butter soften naturally for smooth mixing.

  • Bake uncovered for crispiness in the last few minutes.
  • Best served fresh and warm for maximum flavor.
